The Silverstream Brewery Print

The Silverstream BreweryThe 5,500 square meter, 4 storey building that McDonald Printing Group uses as its head office and production facility began its life as a brewery, known initially as the Silverstream Brewery.

Built in 1881 the brewery accessed the water for brewing from an underground stream, which was claimed to be the finest water in the Commonwealth for this purpose.

The business still uses the water from the stream for production purposes and staffing drinking needs.

During World War 2 a substantial bomb shelter was added to the site.

The printing business purchased the brewery in 1990 to cater for its significant expansion.
